The castle on the entrance of Poyanne (Landes) is testimony the power of the noble family of Baylenx which originated in the fourteenth century by the union of Poudenx and Baylenx, whose apogee lies between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries. For generations, the Wars of Religion to the Fronde, the Seven Years War than thirty years, have accumulated Poyanne Baylenx of titles, honors and burdens in the country of Lannes, Béarn and the Court of Versailles, as a reward their loyalty to the royal power.
